Cyc Fitness

What is Cycling? Cycling aka hardcore spinning is a type of exercise on stationary bikes with music.  Thanks to WELL Summit, I was able to experience my first cycling class ever at Cyc Fitness. My first time was a little rough- getting on and off the bike with the cycling shoes was a struggle but the staffs there were really nice so they helped me out. A couple of days later, Cyc offered me 3 free rides because “it takes at least 3 classes to get hooked on Cyc.” I was so excited and pumped! Cyc is not your average cycling class as it “offers a series of exhilarating, beat-based rides that activate the whole body, the whole time. The renowned workout incorporates calorie burning endurance intervals and weighted sectors inspired by more than 20 different sports movements from boxing, rowing, volleyball and more.” Riders can burn up to 800 calories per 45 minute music driven class! It literally feels like a rave party- on a bike LOL.


The first class I took was with Lydia Ermilio who was super fantastic and gave everyone a killer workout! The second class, was with Keoni Hudoba! Keoni Hudoba is the creator of Cyc Method and a renowned trainer and fitness expert. His background story is truly inspiring and I encourage you to go read all about it here written and interviewed by Jordan Bach, life coach! Throughout the 45 minute spin class in the dark, he keeps his “cyclers” high in energy with entertaining liveliness! In his interview with Delta Faucet, he mentioned that he wanted to create a safe sanctuary for people despite their size, color, shape and I think that’s very crucial because through my own personal experience, there were times when I felt intimidated working out or attending a fitness class.

As the class comes to an end, Keoni turns all the lights off and instructs people to ride as fast as we can. Throughout the last minutes before the remix of Adelle’s song Hello ends, he shouts, “Don’t worry about those who talk behind your back, they’re behind you for a reason.” BAM! Those were really motivating. When the music stopped, my whole body was sweaty but damn, it felt so good.


Cyc method is definitely an experience that everyone should try at least once. Cyc Fitness is located within David Barton Gym in Boston Park Plaza.
